The Space Museum

A Collection of Doctor Who Oddities

'D' is for Dalek...
By Paul Scoones

Every now and then, Doctor Who pops up in the oddest places and surprises you. It happened to me a few months ago, when I was flicking through a large-format children's art book, called Animalia, by Graeme Base (Viking Kestrel, 1986). Each page spread had a plethora of items whose names all began with the same letter of the alphabet. On the 'D' page, next to a donkey, a dam and a dodo, I discovered a Dalek and Doctor Who (the Tom Baker version). And before you ask, yes, I checked the other pages very thoroughly!
