Comments
The unintentionally inaccurate news continued to dog TSV, taken in
good faith from overseas fanzines and readers. This issue's major 'howler' was
the revelation that the Cybermen were lurking in the basement of Paradise
Towers, and there was even a sketch of a redesigned Cyberman to back this
up! Readers were surveyed about Season 14 which had recently been repeated on
NZ television, and The Talons of Weng-Chiang was voted favourite story.
The earliest reviews of Season 24 appeared, covering just the first episode of
Time and the Rani which was the only part to have reached NZ on video by
publication. The first impressions were not favourable. This 32-page issue was
the longest yet published and thereafter the next few issues were considerably
shorter. Paul Scoones was now sole editor, as Paul Sinkovich had stepped down
as co-editor though he continued to help out until issue 6.
