Few would argue that the highlight of this issue, if not the entire year's issues, was Warwick Gray's very impressive comic strip, The Dreaming Book, which impressed DWM editor John Freeman and ultimately led to Warwick's first commission for that magazine. The Seventh Doctor survey results placed The Curse of Fenric in top place and Delta and the Bannermen last. Jon Preddle provided the first part of a guide to locating the episode endings in the Target novelisations. A proposal was put forward in this issue which argued that as New Zealand fans were well served by TSV and the NZDWFC, the Sydney-based Australasian Doctor Who Fan Club ought to change its name to focus only on Australia. A few years later, their name did indeed change to the Doctor Who Fan Club of Australia.
